Table Games

Poker

Poker is the king of card games. It's easy to learn and fun to play no matter what your skill level. Try your luck in our exclusive Poker Zone.

Overview

SKYCITY Auckland offers two variations of poker; Texas Holdem and Omaha.

Unlike other casino games, players of Poker play against each other - SKYCITY Auckland provides the dealers and equipment to conduct the games for a small fee, usually in the form of commission taken from the pot.

Make your way to the Poker Zone next to the Platinum Room on the third floor to experience the excitement for yourself. Swipe your Action card as you enter the Poker Zone and you can receive the latest offers and information on upcoming Poker events. Ask one of our friendly Action Hosts for more information.

Poker Code of Conduct

Table Limits

Our current Texas Holdem Table Limits

Structured Holdem e.g. $5/$10 - Small Blind $2/Big Blind $5, $60 min buy-in
No Limit Holdem e.g. $100 minimum/$200 maximum buy-in

We currently have six poker tables in the Poker Zone and offer both Structured and No Limit games. Table Limit signs showing the types of poker games - the betting limits, buy-ins and commission - are displayed at the Poker booth. Place your name on the table limit list of your choice and be in to join a game.

With our Structured Limit games, there is a set amount that can be wagered for the first (Hole Card) and second (Flop Card) round of betting, and then a higher amount that can be wagered for the third (Turn Card) and final (River Card) rounds. These two amounts are known as the 'Table Limits' and are displayed on the Table Limit sign e.g. '$5/$10 Poker.'

No Limits Games

Our No Limits games have a ‘Minimum and Maximum Buy-In’, but allow players to go ‘all in’.

To keep the games running smoothly, please make your buy-ins at the Poker Booth prior to sitting at the table.

Before the cards are dealt, two 'designated' players will place 'Blind Bets' - a Small and Big Blind. The Big Blind is equal to the first and second round betting limit. There are a maximum of three 'Raises' per round of betting. At Structured games, raises must be at the Table Limit.

From Monday 14 August, the $60 No Limit table will now be $60 Min to $100 Max. The blinds on the $300-$500 No Limit table will reduce to $2/$5.

Missed Blind Penalty - If a player misses any blind they will be penalised with both blinds. The small blind will go into the pot and the big blind will act as a call bet.
