The details below are not the complete terms and conditions to the Poker Tournaments. They are a summary aimed to provide you with details on how the tournaments will operate.
If you have more detailed questions please contact the Poker Zone Supervisor or email poker@skycityadelaide.com.au.
Rules
The Rules of Poker are to apply subject to the specific rules outlined hereunder. In addition to the rules set in the Rules of Poker, the following rules are to apply in the case of Tournament play. Where the rules for Tournament play are inconsistent with the rules of Poker, then the rules for Tournament play shall prevail to the extent of the inconsistency and only during the playing of a Tournament.
Management
Management reserves the right to cancel or alter any event at its sole discretion in the best interest of the casino or its players.
Tournament Director
In all disputes, The Tournament Director's decision is final.
Commencement/Resumption of Play
Players not present shall be dealt cards and will have their blinds posted (and antes if used) until their table stake has been exhausted.
Two Players
When only two players remain in the Tournament the button shall post the small blind and act first in the opening round
Time
Once a reasonable amount of time has passed and a clock is called for, a player will be given one minute to make a decision. If action has not been taken by the time the minute is over, there will be a 10-second countdown. If a player has not acted on his hand by the time the countdown is over, the hand will be dead.
At Table
A player must be at the table by the time all players have complete hands in order to have his hand live.
Face up
All cards will be turned face up once a player is all in and all action is complete.
Highest Chips Visible
Players must keep their highest denomination chips visible at all times.
Chips Visible
All chips must be visibly displayed at all times. Players may not have tournament chips in their pockets at any time. A player who has chips in his pocket will forfeit the chips. The forfeited chips will be taken out of play from the tournament.
Dodging Blind
A player who intentionally dodges his blind(s) when moving from a broken table will forfeit the blind(s). The money will be put into the next pot and will be considered dead money.
Unprotected Hand
If a dealer kills an unprotected hand, the player will have no redress and will not be entitled to his money back. An exception would be if a player raised and his raise had not been called yet, he would be entitled to receive his raise back.
Killing Winning Hand
Dealers cannot kill a winning hand that was turned face up and was obviously the winning hand.
No discussion
Players, whether in the hand or not, may not discuss the hands until the action is complete. Players are obligated to protect the other players in the tournament at all times. Discussing cards discarded or hand possibilities is not allowed.
One motion
In No Limit or Pot Limit, when raising, a player must either put the amount of the raise out in one motion or state the raise amount. By stating the word raise, a player protects his right to raise, but the raise must be made in one additional motion unless he states the amount.
Less than full raise
In no-limit and pot limit, less than a full raise does not re-open the betting to a player who already has acted.
Restrictions
SKYCITY Adelaide may place restrictions on when or the amount of times patrons may enter any of these Tournaments (to give more players the opportunity to enter)
First entry won
Patrons who win bonus entries into any grand final tournament must play the first entry they win. Additional bonus entries won are not valid entries to the grand final.
Additional entries won
Additional entries won are not redeemable for cash but are transferable.
