Jock Irvine: Chairperson

Jock Irvine is a senior partner of Auckland legal firm Simpson Grierson, specialising in general practice, property and business law. Chairman of the Casino Control Authority from its inception in 1990 until August 1999, he is currently a member of the Norfolk Island Gaming Authority, which was established to regulate Internet gaming activity on the island. 

In 1997 he was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the legal profession. Jock has a keen interest in community activities and has been involved with the local Lions Club for over 30 years and filled a number of posts in the sporting area, including chairman of Soccer Auckland and chairman of Soccer New Zealand for three years. He is a Foundation Trustee of Sport Auckland and his involvement with the SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust provides a further opportunity for involvement in community projects and activities, which will enhance the well-being of the Auckland area.

Sharon Deaker: Trustee

Sharon Deaker has a background in teaching and speech therapy. A co-founder and honorary life member of the Life Education Trust New Zealand Northern Region, Sharon was instrumental in organising the 1989 "Sir Howard Morrison Ride for Life", which raised $1.1 million for primary prevention drug education.

Awarded a Community Service Medal in 1990, Sharon has a long history of community involvement, including membership of the Unitec, Auckland SPCA and Lampen Workchoice Trust boards. She is also a council member of the Auckland Cancer Society.

She finds it extremely satisfying to see the difference the SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust grants have made to a large number of organisations.

Rodney Davies: Trustee

A qualified architect and planner who has specialised in tourism research and development, Rodney Davies worked in central and regional government before entering private practice in 1966.  He is the Principal of Planning and Research Associates of New Zealand Ltd (PARANZ), a planning consultancy he established in 1979.

Rodney is a long serving member of the St Johns College Trust Board, the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) NZ Trust, is past-President and a Fellow of the New Zealand Planning Institute, a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Architects, a Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and a retired Member of both the Australian Institute of Planners and the New Zealand Institute of Forestry.  In 2001 he was awarded life membership of PATA for his services to tourism throughout the Asia Pacific region and in 2007 he was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the planning profession and the tourism industry.

Rodney was instrumental in the formation of the SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust and wishes to see the resources of the Trust used to develop a sense of place and belonging, civic pride and a strong sense of community amongst present and future Aucklanders.

Hamish Keith: Trustee

Hamish Keith is well known as an arts consultant, media writer, broadcaster and author of a number of art and social history publications.

He has held a number of government arts appointments, including Convener of the "Heart of the Nation" project in 2000 and Chairman of the National Gallery from 1985 to 1991, he was a member of the Project Development Board for the Museum of New Zealand; between 1975 and 1981 was chairman of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand.

As an arts consultant Hamish has undertaken work for a range of organisations, including SKYCITY, the Museum of New Zealand, the Aotea Centre, Auckland University, the Waikato Art Museum and Mainzeal.

Hamish is interested in working with the Trust to extend SKYCITY's already considerable cultural contribution to the local community.

Patsy Reddy: Trustee

Patsy Reddy has been on the SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust since its inception in 1996.

Patsy is also a director of Telecom New Zealand and of the investment company Active Equities. She is a member of NZX Discipline. A qualified lawyer, Patsy was previously a lecturer in law at Victoria University and a partner in a national law firm. She has 20 years experience in equity investment and has served as a director of several major New Zealand companies.

Her community interests are primarily in the area of visual and performing arts - she is currently a trustee of the New Zealand Festival and a board member of the Adam Art Gallery Advisory Board.

ARTHUR LOO: TRUSTEE


Auckland-born Arthur Loo has been in practice as a solicitor since 1977.

Arthur is also the Chairperson for the Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Education (FADE), a trustee for the Koru Care Charitable Trust and for the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation NZ. Arthur received the New Zealand Commemorative Medal in 1990 and his community service also includes being the current Deputy Chairman of the Auckland Chinese Community Centre.

JAYNE KIELY: TRUSTEE


Jayne Kiely's sporting career saw her represent New Zealand in the 1986 and 1990 Commonwealth Games for the long jump. In 1991 she competed in the World Track and Field Championships in Tokyo and in the Indoor World Track and Field Championships in Seville, Spain.

Since then Jayne has worked in radio and television and her television career includes a spot on 'Mountain Dew on the Edge', host of 'The Weddings Show', and more recently the host of 'Mitre 10 Dream Show'.
Jayne is married with two sons. Her interests include skiing, athletics, tennis and enjoying grassroots sport with her sons, as well as interior design.
This is Jayne's first Trustee appointment and she brings with her enthusiasm and passion for community based projects involving young people.
