Nikau Wreath
The sculpture symbolises a welcome that has the appearance of a feast laid down, and on another scale, a wreath to wear as part of a ceremonial costume.
Being set into the floor and being a blue green colour is reminiscent of looking into a forest pool.
The Nikau has been chosen because it has a beautiful form, is a uniquely New Zealand plant, and demonstrates a sense of plenty.
