SKYCITY's latest urban adventure, SkyWalk, was officially opened by Prime Minister Helen Clark, on Friday 7 December, to those willing to take the challenge of walking the circumference of the Sky Tower on a ledge that is only 1.2 metres wide and 192m high. While towers elsewhere in the world offer an external walking experience, SkyWalk is the first in the Southern Hemisphere to do so without rails or balcony, just the safety harness. SkyWalk costs $115.00 and there are group and student discounts available. Visit http://www.skywalk.co.nz for more details.
Sky Jump
Jumpstart your Kiwi adventure by leaping 192m (630ft) from Auckland's spectacular Sky Tower.
This OSH approved device means jumpers can "base-jump by wire" falling for approximately 16 seconds at around 75kph. Unlike bungy, Skyjump participants do not hang upside down or bounce around.
You simply fall fast and smooth and then slow to a safe landing. A World First!
