The Queenstown Winter Festival
Since 2002 SKYCITY Queenstown Casino has supported the Queenstown Winter Festival.
SKYCITY has been an active participant in the Festival sponsoring the ‘Blues on the Bay Party’ in 2002; the festival’s official comedy provider in 2003; and in 2004 we were delighted to host the SKYCITY Comedy Night and sponsor the SKYCITY Jazz Night in addition to providing live entertainment every night during the festival. In 2005 SKYCITY Queenstown Casino will again host the SKYCITY Comedy Night and present the SKYCITY Jazz Night, which will be held at Skyline.

Central Otago Wine and Food Festival
Since 2002 SKYCITY Queenstown Casino has been a sponsor of the annual Central Otago Wine and Food Festival.
In 2003 SKYCITY and Wild Thyme Restaurant hosted the official seafood and salmon tent, providing talented chefs to create delicacies to showcase local and regional produce.
In 2004 SKYCITY was entertainment sponsor for the festival, assisting to bring the popular Nairobi Trio to perform during the festival. In 2005 SKYCITY Queenstown Casino again sponsored the festival entertainment as well showcasing Wild Thyme’s contemporary cuisine as an official festival food exhibitor.
SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Ski Race Team
SKYCITY Queenstown Casino has sponsored the SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Ski Race Team since 2002. The team achieved an outstanding result at the Export Gold Winter Classic Race Series held in Queenstown in September 2003, picking up first place in the Masters section and winning four out of the five individual events.
Queenstown Adventure Quest
In 2003 SKYCITY sponsored the inaugural Queenstown Adventure Quest, and continued this sponsorship in 2004.
This unique urban adventure event is aimed at the local and regional communities and is run by the Southern Traverse team. Held in Queenstown, Adventure Quest encourages people of all ages to participate in this mini adventure race, combining clue searching, adventure activities and a spirit of discovery.
National Rugby Sevens
In 2005 SKYCITY Queenstown Casino sponsored the National Rugby Sevens competition held in January at the Queenstown Recreation Centre. 16 provincial teams from around New Zealand competed for the honour of being named 2005 National Sevens Champs. For the first time a big screen was secured for the event, which was sponsored by SKYCITY Queenstown Casino. The SKYCITY Big Screen televised all games, as well as profiling teams and players and posting regular updates on standings, scores and results. Overall the Sevens with Altitude competition was sensational, with SKYCITY Queenstown Casino delighted at being able to assist in making the event so successful.
SKYCITY presents Ladies Night!
SKYCITY is proud to present Ladies Night, New Zealand’s most commercially successful play ever.
The On Q Events’ production of Ladies Night hits the Queenstown Memorial Hall from the 12-21 May 2005 and is billed to become the highest profile live theatre Queenstown has ever seen.
Enjoy dinner at SKYCITY before the show, or make the most of the 2 for 1 drink voucher you’ll receive with your Ladies Night ticket and head back to Wild Thyme bar after the show to meet the cast.
