Top Chefs Join Forces To Combat Unemployment in the North

Five of South Australia’s leading chefs have come together to support the 13th annual Great Chefs of Adelaide charity luncheon, this year raising funds for The Archbishop’s Appeal to combat entrenched and generational unemployment in the North.

MC Keith Conlon (Postcards and 5AA) will host the event to be held at the Adelaide Town Hall on Sunday 17 August from noon.

Anglicare has organised this event for the past 12 years and has raised over $700,000 to date from the high profile luncheon events.

Local wines and produce are mostly donated, as are the waiting staff, kitchen hands and chefs’ time.
Around 300 guests will attend the event, which is close to selling out, however there are a couple of tables remaining and tickets cost $150.00 per person.

Anglicare would like to thank everyone involved in organising and supporting this year’s event which is tipped to be better than ever.

“It’s shaping up to be the best event we’ve ever had, with different entertainment, fantastic decorations and a superb four course menu designed by some of the best culinary experts in South Australia,” says Jillian Macdonald, Event Coordinator, Anglicare. 

The high profile chefs which have generously donated their time to design the menu and assist in the kitchen on the day include Cobus Klopper, SKYCITY  Adelaide Casino Executive Chef, Todd Steele, The Victory, Mathew Goodlet, Farina, Sandor Palmai, Georges and Mark McNamara from Appellation under the scrutiny of legendary Cheong Liew.

Special thanks also to Gareth Grierson, Epicure, Town Hall, for the use of his facilities and his staff.
The wines have been supplied by Wirra Wirra, Paxton Wines, Mitolo, Primo Estate and Jacobs Creek.
Produce is supplied by Four Seasons Fresh Produce and the waiting staff are students from the International College of Hotel Management.
