Are you Adelaide's Poker Queen? Ladies Only Poker at SKYCITY Adelaide

As many of Hollywood's leading ladies such as Mena Suvari, Anne Heche, Mimi Rogers, Ricki Lake and Elizabeth Shannon are getting involved in poker tournaments around the world, SKYCITY Adelaide is offering Adelaide women the chance to see what all the fuss is about, with a "Ladies Only" Poker tournament!

Boasting a prize pool valued at up to $30,000*, Ladies Only Poker has just launched at SKYCITY Adelaide and will be held in the Poker Zone every Thursday night at 7pm until the finals in November.

The 'mixed' No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournaments have already proven popular since their inception last month, with women gravitating to the tables to try their luck.

"As the poker craze continues to sweep the globe, the number of females playing the game is increasing" SKYCITY Entertainment Group General Manager Marketing Operations, Tamsyn Alley, said.

"Traditionally, poker has been seen as a male-dominated sport, which can be intimidating for women."

"Ladies Only Poker gives women the opportunity to share a fun night out with the girls, at the same time enabling them to experience competitive poker."

Competitors can win entry to the Final on November 12 through the weekly tournaments, which cost $50 to enter (which includes the $40 prize pool contribution plus a $10 entry fee).

SKYCITY Adelaide's Poker Zone is the only South Australian venue where poker can be played legally using cash.

Bookings are essential, and can be made via entry payment at the Action Station on the Ground Floor.

Every Monday, SKYCITY Adelaide features free learn-to-play Texas Hold'em poker sessions for both men and women.
These run from 6:00pm -6:45pm in Poker Zone.
