Smoking Policy

Becoming smokefree at SKYCITY.

In September 2003 the New Zealand Government passed an Amendment to the 'Smoke-free Environments Act' and smokefree regulations, which requires all hospitality venues to be smokefree by December 10 2004.

Current Company Policy

This policy states that SKYCITY Auckland will:

  • Provide smokefree gaming areas, restaurants, bars, car park and all other other public facilities*
  • Provide outdoor smoking areas for customers and staff
  • Ensure signage is displayed to indicate that all internal areas* are smokefree and to direct customers to the nearest smoking areas
  • Require staff to enforce the smokefree legisation and, when applicable, warn patrons for breach of the legisation
  • Evict patrons from premises if they continue to breach the smokefree legisation after warnings.
