SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Community Trust

How To Apply

If your organisation fits the criteria outlined, please complete the application process. Please note, verbal applications cannot be accepted.

Application Deadlines

Applications are now closed for the 2008 funding round.

The Application Form

  • Organisations must complete the relevant application form for the specific Community Trust and nominate one suitable contact person
  • All questions on the application form must be completed, even if supporting material is also enclosed
  • The organisation's latest set of financial statements (preferably audited) should be included
  • Check the application form for the deadline date, as incomplete or late applications cannot be accepted.

Application Confirmation

Physical Applications - When you have made sure that every question on the application form has been answered, check that all the requested information is included and forward your application form by post or courier to the SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Community Trust.

Your organisation will receive a letter from the Trust to confirm that your application has been received within two weeks of the application deadline.

The Application Review Process

The Trust receives a large number of applications and completing the review process takes the independent Trustees some time.

Each application is initially assessed to make sure it meets the Trust's funding criteria and then each is considered based on the details included on the application form. At this stage the Trustees may wish to ask further questions or request additional information from your organisation.

Application Timetable

Due to the large number of applications the selection process is very involved. When this is complete, applicants will be advised whether or not their funding application has been successful (by letter). This is generally 8 to 10 weeks after the application deadline, but may take longer if there are a larger number of applicants than expected.

After the successful and unsuccessful applicants have been notified, public notification will take place in local media and on the relevant SKYCITY website.

Successful recipients will be invited to a celebratory SKYCITY cocktail function where a certificate is presented to each organisation. At this time, recipients also receive details regarding fund payment, receipt requirements and promotional opportunities.

Application and Grant Size

Organisations can only apply for the amount required for their project or activity. Trust grants range in size from hundreds to thousands of dollars.

On average, grants are typically in the range of $2,000 to $25,000. Applications are received for grants far in excess of the funds available for distribution, so grants above these figures are the exception rather than the rule.
